ALFRED OSCAR "BUD" LOVETT

This is Bud Lovett, son of Ruben and Amanda Lovett. He is holding his daughter, Maybelle who died at age 5. His son, John Iverson is at his side (it was common for little boys to wear dresses.) Bud was born November 22, 1850, died January 12, 1922.

Bud married Mary Missanni "Missie" Blansett in 1871 when Bud was 21 and Missie was 17. Missie was born December 19, 1854. Her father was James P. Blansett who ran the post office in their township that was named after him. Her mother was Nancy Paralee McLain, born June 28, 1832. Missie was 10 when her father died and a young teenager when her mother remarried.

Missie & Bud had 6 children: James Ruben, born September 17, 1873, died at age 13; Mae Ella Lee (Eller), born February 19, 1875; William Curtis "Bill," born February 6, 1877; John Iverson, born March 10, 1882; Marie Maybelle, born May 1, 1886, died at age 5; Alfred Oscar Miles, born March 17, 1891. Bud and Missie also raised James Henry, Bud’s half brother when his parents died.

Missie died on March 14, 1914 at age 60 in Boles, Scott County. She was buried at Whisenhunt Cemetery in Blansett. I descend from Miles Lovett. If you would like to share information about this line please contact me. Please put "Scott County Ancestors" as your subject.
