DORTHY MAE PEARL (WALKER) LOVETT
This is Dorthy Lovett. This picture was taken around 1944 at age 18. My mother, Dorthy Mae Pearl Walker was the 5th child of George and Irtely (Hutchins) Walker, born April 29, 1926. George Albert Walker was the son of Jiles Thomas "Tom" Walker and Sarah Marilla Gibson, called Rilly. The Jiles Thomas Walker family is found on Scott County census records 1910 through 1930. George was born September 10, 1896, died February 13, 1988. Icie Irtely (Hutchins) Walker was the daughter of James Madison Hutchins and Mary Ellen Johnson, called Molly. Irtely was born June 23, 1896, died March 12, 1984.
On July 4, 1942 Dorthy married Leonard Lovett. In Oct. 1942 he was drafted into WWII. He was gone for over 3 years and came back whole and fit, thank God. In 9 months they had their first of 4 children, George Alfred in 1946, then Edward Lee in 1948, Linda Jean in 1951, and Hubert Aaron in 1953, (died at birth).
