Mr. M.F. Simmons came in from Sugar Grove Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Ramey are on a visit to Sebastian county.
Lawyer Simmons of Barber spent most of the week at Waldron.

Mr. Thos. Johnson of Olio was mingling with his Waldron friends Saturday.

Mrs. Roberts has been severely ill for several days, but we are glad to say she is improving.

Miss Laura Taff returned Friday from Cauthron accompanied by Miss Sallie McRay of Holdenville, I.T.
E.L. Rogers, traveling representative of the Choctaw, Oklahoma & Gulf, called on the Reporter last week.
M.C. Malone, wife and baby, Miss Isla Malone and Miss Harrell were on a visit to Gipson Saturday and Sunday.
Jno. Cox, of north Scott county, is one of the many prominent farmers who have recently subscribed for the Reporter.
Mr. T.R. Frazier died last Friday of consumption. His daughter, Miss Mary, returned from Georgia a
few days before he died.
Uncle Whit Byram of Parks was in town Monday. He is still indisposed for rheumatism, and we hope he will
soon be restored.
Mr. J.L. Davidson, of Poteau, is up from Briggsville where he has been teaching. He is one of the census
enumerators in Yell county.
Jno. Presley has a good position in the company store at Abbott. He is among our new subscribers and has
our thanks for favors.
The school election passed off quietly at Waldron. A five mill tax was voted as usual and S.K. Duncan, Jr.,
and Lee Richardson were elected directors.
The sermons at the South Methodist church Sunday were among the ablest delivered in our town for many years.
Bro. Harris is rapidly growing in popular favor.
Messrs. J.B. Roberts and E.D. Harrison of Sevier county are in Waldron for business. The former is a first-class
carpenter, the latter a machinist and engineer.
S. Dunkin of Winfield called at the Reporter office Thursday.
School director W.E. Jones of Winfield was a caller Monday. His district voted a five mill tax and will
furnish the new house and fit it up nicely with patent double desks.
Mr. T.B. Brooks of Cardiff called at the Reporter office Friday and secured a sample copy. He has returned
to Scott county after an absence of eleven years, having lived in this country a score and one years.
The almost unanimous vote in favor of Judge Duncan for school director shows the high esteem in which he is
held by our people. Mr. Richardson is also one of our best citizens, and they will carefully guard the interest
of the district.
Vol. 1 No. 1 of the Developer, published at Hartford by Jesse A. Harp has made its appearance with every
indication of a successful career. It is located in a live town of enterprising people, ably edited, and
typographically a gem of the first class. We wish it success.
