I am looking for a very elusive ancestor: Starling JONES. I've found him in only one census: 1860 Hunt Township, Scott County. His wife was listed as Martha and he had two children: Drury and William. He was only 25 at the time. Later, he married (?) my great-grandmother, Martha Ann BLAKE. Their son, Albert (b. 1896-1898, Stigler or Poteau, OK) was my Grandfather. Starling died 1898-1900.I have never been able to find Starling in any other official document. It is believed that he died around Stigler, OK and is possibly buried in a cemetery called Red Oak. No marker has been found. I am positive the 1860 census does accurately list my ancestor because it is known that my great-grandfather had two sons that were named Drue and Bill.
