Am seeking information or descendents of my gr-gr-grandfather and his family. John Vander BARKER, believed to have been born 2 July 1873, Birmingham, Alabama, married Mary "Edna" Elizabeth Emiline REED, 12 Nov. 1895, Boles (Scott) AR. "Edna" was born 1 April 1877/78, AR. According to John's Record of Funeral, he and "Edna" had 11 children, (10 boys,1 girl). They are: Virgil, Rufus, Marvin, Walter Haven, Fred L., Joel "Vander", Colonel, Troy, Parilton, Edgar, and "Dusky" the only girl. I have a photo of "Vander" with 8 of his boys and Dusky. John's Record of Funeral lists his father as, Joel Edward BARKER, and his mother as Nancy BLACKWOOD. However, I was informed that his father was Charles Abner BARKER. I know this family lived in or near Boles 1895-1908, before moving to Seminole County, OK where they lived and are buried. Will correspond with anyone willing to share or exchange info.

(10 Apr 1882,AR), and Bert W., (abt. 1884, AR). William C. married Emma Viania "Viney" BARKER, 19 nov 1893, (Scott) AR; Daisy P. married Frank J. HOLLEMAN, 6 Oct 1906, AR/OK; Walter O. married Drew Siller FORD, 13 Nov 1904, Mena (Polk), AR; and Bert W. married Ada McGEE. Believe this family lived in these counties in Arkansas: Crawford, Scott, & Polk. Then moved to Okfuskee and Seminole Counties. Does anyone know what the J.P. stands for? Is he buried in Scott County? I know Mary E. is buried in the Konawa, (Seminole), Cemetery.

I'm looking for Starling JONES who appeared in the 1860 census for Scott County. His wife was Martha and two of their children, Drury and Bill, were also listed. This is the only census in which I can find him. I know he's the right one because of the son, Drury and I know for a fact that he did indeed have a son named Drue. Starling married a second time in the 1890s to my great-grandmother, Martha BLAKE, the daughter of Samuel David BLAKE. He is believed to have died around 1900 somewhere in Oklahoma, possibly around Stigler or Poteau. A grandson by his first marriage believes Starling is buried in a cemetery called Red Oak, but we can't find it.

I am looking for information on Anna Louisiana (IVEY) HARRIS, (1845-1920) wife of Benjamin Christopher HARRIS (1841-1900) who lived in Scott County from 1850 until her death. She was the daughter of Mary SESSIONS (b abt 1822) and Elijah (abt.1815-bef 1860?) IVEY/IVY. B.C HARRIS was the son of Joannah (GIPSON/GIBSON)(1818-1860) and Robert Riley (1815-1866) HARRIS. Elijah IVEY was born in Illinois and his wife, Mary SESSIONS was born in Alabama. There were several other children: Sarah, born in Illinois, Lucinda, Elizabeth, Nancy, Missouri and Lydia. All but Sarah were born in Arkansas. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated.

He was born in Indiana, and came to Scott Ccounty sometime around 1880 and lived there in Nola until his death in 1929. He may have had a sister, Nancy A. MORROW who married James W. JONES. He also must have had a brother, as there was a nephew by the name of Isaac "Ike" MORROW. He married Melvina JONES about 1882.
