I, Rebecca Taylor, of Scott Co., Ark. having filed my Application No. 5329, for an entry under the provisions of the act of Congress approved May 20, 1862, entitled "An act to secure Homesteads to actual settlers on the public domain," do solemnly swear, that I am the head of a family - a citizen of the United States - that I have not heretofore had the benefit of this Act - that I make my application No. 5329 for my exclusive use and benefit - for actual settlement and cultivation, and not directly or indirectly for the use or benefit of any other person or persons whomsoever

NON-MINERAL AFFIDAVIT

County of Yell
State of Arkansas

Rebecca Taylor being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says that she is the identical person who is an applicant for Government title to the NW fcl of SE fcl & S 1/2 of NE fcl of SW fcl Section 4, Tp 4 N R 28 W that she is well acquainted with the character of said described land, and with each and every legal subdivision thereof, having frequently passed over the same; that her knowledge of said land is such as to enable her to testify understandingly with regard thereto; that there is not, to her knowledge, within the limits thereof, any vein or lode of quartz or other rock in place, bearing gold, silver, cinnabar, lead, tin, or copper, or any deposit of coal; that there is not within the limits of said land, to her knowledge, any placer, cement, gravel, or other valuable mineral deposit; that no portion of said land is claimed for mining purposes under the local customs or rules of miners or otherwise; that no portion of said land is worked for mineral during any part of the year by any person or persons; that said land is essentially non-mineral land, and that her application therefor is not made for the purpose of fraudulenty obtaining title to mineral land, but with the object of securing said land for agricultural purposes.

FINAL AFFIDAVIT REQUIRED OF HOMESTEAD CLAIMANTS
Act of May 20, 1862

I, Rebecca Taylor, having made a Homestead entry of the NW fcl of SE fcl & NE fcl of SW fcl section No. 4 in township No. 4 N of range No. 18 W (sic) subject to entry at (blank) under the first section of the Homestead Act of (blank), do now apply to perfect my claim thereto by virtue of the first proviso to the second section of said act; and for that purpose do solemnly swear that I am the head of a family a citizen of the United States; that I have made actual settlement upon and have cultivated said land, having resided thereon since the 22d day of September, 1870, to the present time; that no part of said land has been alienated, but that I am the sole bona fide owner as an actual settler; and that I will bear true allegiance to the Government of the United States and that I have not heretofore perfected or abandoned an entry made under this act.

Final Proof required under Homestead Act May 20, 1862

We, R.M. Johnson & Henry Taylor do solemnly swear that we have known Rebecca Taylor for 6 years last past; that she is head of a family consisting of four children a citizen of the United States; that she is an inhabitant of the NW fcl of SE fcl & S 1/2 & NE fcl of SW fcl of Section 4 in Township 4 N of Range 28 W and that no other person resided upon the said land entitled to the right of Homestead or Pre-emption.

That the said Rebecca Taylor entered upon and made settlement on said land on the 22d day of September, 1870, and has built a house thereon and has lived in the said house and made it her exclusive home from the 22d day of September, 1870, to the present time, and that she has, since said settlement, plowed, fenced, and cultivated about 25 acres of said land, and has made the following improvements thereon, to wit built a dwelling house, Corn Smoke HOuse.
