John Earl Bomer (E.B.) Vise (Wheece) and son Edwin Vise (Wheece). Bomer left Scott Co. sometime around 1900. Family legend has it that he accidently shot and killed a child in Scott Co. while shooting at a pack of wild dogs. The orignal photo has the notation "went by the name of Wheece." I have been able to substantiate this with census and newspaper records from Tonopah, Nevada where he reportedly moved. I have also since found and been in contact with his descendants who acknowledge hearing the Vise name over the years but had been unsure of the connection. If anyone has any information on the "accident" I would very much like to know more.
