Dr. John Read Bailey

Dr. John Read Bailey was born 23 July,1833 in New York City, New York, and died 18 January 1910 in Fort Smith Arkansas. He lived for many years at Mackinac Island, Mackinac, Michigan and that is where he is buried. He was the son of Dr. Joseph Haywood Bailey and Mary Read Bailey who moved to Sebastian County in 1838. His brother, William Worth Bailey also practiced medicine at Fort Smith. Wheeler's Independent Dec 29, 1880
