John Royston Brown, Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Huntington and Fort Smith, Arkansas,
was bornJuly 4, 1885. He attended grade school in Scott County, Arkansas and graduated
from the University of Arkansas Medical Department in 1913. He practiced medicine in
Midland, Arkansas for about two years, entered Army in 1917, and was service connected until
1932, when he was discharged due to medical disabilily. He has not been actively engaged in
medical practice since, even though he is listed in the Fort Smith Bussiness Directory in
1936 and 1938 as a physician. Prior to his gradution from Medical School he had been
examined by the Homeooathic State Medical Board and licensed to practice medicine in
Arkansas in 1909.
