Dr. Thomas Jefferson Wright was born Aug 16, 1836 in Johnson County, Missouri to John Angel and Eliza Ann Cull Wright.
He attended Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, St. Louis Medical College in 1866
His first wife Anna M Renick died in 1887 in Dodge City, Kansas. His second wife was Clara E. Cofield, married Jul 9, 1891 in Sebastian County, Ar.
He died Sep 8, 1905 at Fort Smith, Arkansas and is buried at Oak Cemetery there.

Dr. Wright was a hospital Steward in the Confederate Army. When the war ended, he enrolled in the St. Louis medical school where he graduated with honors.

He practiced in Chilhowee and Warrensburg Missouri where he served as the Johnson County Coroner. He also had an office in Dodge City, Kansas.

In 1892, he was elected President of the Sebastian Co. Medical Society. In addition, he was the Director of the Hospital section of the prison at Ft. Smith.

Dr. Wright was also one of the first practitioners to push for the inclusion of Alternative Medicines and wrote several papers on their use.

Family Story ---that TJ Wright gave $10,000.00 to a nephew to buy cattle with and he signed into the hotel using his uncles name. The nephew used the money to gamble with and was killed.
