G.S. Maness Is Found Dead
At Lavaca Home
"Lavaca, AR. July 14 - G.S. Maness, 78 years old, a resident ot the Lavaca community for 40 years was
found dead at his farm home near here about 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon with a bullet hole in his head.
A note, found near the body and wrapped around the handle of a small calibre pistol, indicatd that the aged
man took his own life.
The note bore a message of farewell to the members of the aged man's family. The aged man lived with a daughter,
Mrs. Dewey Graham.
Two other daughters and four sons survive. They are Mrs. Mae Johnson of Texas; Mrs. Luke Stem, Bud, Herman, Doug
and Austin Maness of Lavaca.
Funeral Arrangements have not been completed".
