1932 - 2016





Paul Baker Gean was born February 16, 1932 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Roy Robert, Sr. & Nan Fisher Baker Gean. In 1954 he married Sondra Kaay Roberts at Fort Smith.

Paul served in the Air Force during the Korean War. His final rank was 1st Lt.

Paul passed away October 28, 2016 and was buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ar. The rest of his story is in his obituary below.

Paul B. Gean, 84, of Fort Smith, passed away October 28, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born February 16, 1932 in Fort Smith to Roy R. and Nan Fisher Baker Gean.

Paul was a graduate of Fort Smith High School and the University of Arkansas Law School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and when Paul passed the Arkansas Bar he joined and became a senior partner of Gean, Gean, and Gean Law Firm. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon. Paul's heart was in missions and he traveled the world sharing his faith.

Paul is survived by his wife Kaay of the home; three daughters, Missy and husband Randy Cates of Fort Smith, Lauren and husband Bill O'Hare of Siloam Springs, and Amy and husband Steve Markovich of Siloam Springs; eight grandchildren, Kaylee O'Hare, Will O'Hare, Hannah Markovich, Luke Markovich, Bethany Markovich, Paul Cates, Rebekah Travis, and Addie French; and three great grandchildren, Aubrey French, Ezra Travis, and Everly Travis.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church. Burial will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith with military honors. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Paul's Sunday School Class, Jim Reavis, Donnie Doty, Randy Cates, Bill O'Hare, Steve Markovich, Paul Cates, and Jordan Travis.
