Billy Gene Meadows

Billy Gene Meadows was born February 12, 1928 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to William Presley "Press" & Willie Lee Rankin Meadows. December 24, 1950 he married Opal Juevene Graham at Lavaca, Arkanas. Both were residents there at that time.

Gene registered for the military draft February 12, 1946 at the Court House in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. At that time he was still a student. Nothing more is found about his service.

Gene Meadows passed away April 19, 2013. HIs burial was in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Gene Meadows, 85, of Fort Smith, died April 19, 2013 in Fort Smith.
He was born February 12, 1928 in Lavaca, AR to William Presley and Willie Rankin Meadows.

He was a retired buyer for both Hanna Gray Company and Roberts Automotive, he served three years in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of; Fort Smith for 55 years.

He is survived by two daughter, Tamara and husband Terry Sinclair of Fort Smith and Rayna and husband Jerry Tucker of Liberty, OK; one son, Mel and wife Phyllis Meadows of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Reba Hammond of Charleston, AR; and two grandchildren Renata Cole and husband Kinny and Luke Tucker along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Opal Juvene Meadows and two brothers, Dale and Joe Meadows.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Sinclair, Jerry Tucker, Kinny Cole, LaVerne Sinclair, and Roger Hammond.
