Teddy "Ted" Floyd Martin was born January 5, 1934 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Carroll Bradford & Myrtle McCrea Martin. March 20, 1964 he married Carolyn Ledean Taylor at Lavaca, Arkansas.

Ted served in the US Army in the 1950s after the Korean War.

Teddy (Ted) Floyd Martin passed away July 31, 2018 at Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ar. His burial was at Lavaca City Cemetery at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Teddy (Ted) Floyd Martin, 84, of Lavaca, Arkansas passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018, in Van Buren. A celebration of life service will be held at 2: 00 PM, Saturday, August 4, at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas located at 201 North 12th Street, with Reverend Ted Grove officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30 PM on Friday, August 3rd, at Edwards Funeral Home.

Ted was born January 5, 1934, in Lavaca, Arkansas to Carroll and Myrtle (McCrae) Martin. He was a graduate of Lavaca High School and served honorably in the armed forces. He was married to Carolyn (Taylor) Martin for over 51 years before her death.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. He also was a prolific artist, enjoying painting and drawing for many years. First Baptist Church of Lavaca was his church home. He worked at and retired from the Arkansas Casket Company in Fort Smith, along with Correll Inc. in Charleston.

Ted is survived by his son, Scott Martin and his wife Mary of Prairie Grove; four grandchildren, Will, Marie, Caleb, and Sarah, who he loved dearly; eight brothers and sisters, Stanley Martin, Billy (Cecelia) Martin, Christine Davidson, Willine Ellison, Bobby (Ruthie) Martin, Harold Wayne (Sheila) Martin, Artie (Buford) Martin, and Nancy (Benny) Teague; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Myrtle (McCrae) Martin; and his dear wife, Carolyn (Taylor) Martin, on July 3 of this year.

The family wants to thank the staff of Crawford Health and Rehabilitation, Peachtree Hospice, and Edwards Funeral Home for their compassionate care and service during this difficult time.
