Elton P Been was born November 24, 1919 in Center Township, Sebastian Co. Ar. to Virgil Vancil & Minnie Mae Bassett Been. The family lived on the Lavaca road 3 miles from Greenwood. June 20, 1945 Elton married 17 year old Norma J. Wilkins at Tulsa, Oklahoma, both being residents there at that time. January 6, 1941 Elton enlisted in the US Army, Field Artillery. He had been in the National Guard previous to his enlistment. He states on his enlistment that he has completed 1 year of college. March 23, 1993 Elton P Been passed away at Tulsa County Oklahoma. He was buried in the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Tulsa Co. Oklahoma.
