Roland Ward Boone

Roland Ward Boone was born November 14, 1924 in South Sebastian Co., Ar. to Arthur T. & Elizabeth Mae "Lizzie" Elder Boone. Ward's father Arthur T. Boone served in WWI with the Co. C., 104 Engrs.
10 Mar 1946 Roland W. Boone of Hackett married Billye Bernice Pryor of Jenny Lind.

December 26, 1943 Roland registered for the military draft in Sebastian Co., Ar. June 12, 1943 he enlisted in the US Navy. He served at "USS Navy Yard, Navy No. 128, Pearl Harbor, T.J." as is shown on the muster sheets below. In January 1944 he is listed as a Seaman 2nd Class. He served during the Korean War also. In the late 1950's he has other reports, again posted below. They reference Pine Bluff?

Roland Ward Boone passed away June 16, 2012 and was buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Hackett, Seastian Co., Ar.

Mr. R. Ward Boone, of Greenwood, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at a Fort Smith hospital. Mr. Ward was 87 years old. He was a member of Valley View Church of Christ; a United States NAVY Veteran of the Korean Conflict; a World War II veteran; a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge #131 F&AM; a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies; and a member of the Harris-Hannah VFW Post #6527; and he was a co-owner of Highway 64-71 Water Company.

Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Billye Boone; 1 daughter: Tanya Reichen; 1 son: Ronald Boone; 1 sister: Dorothy Ratliff; 2 brothers: Almond Boone of Oregon and William Lee "Bill" Boone of Washington; 2 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Valley View Church of Christ in Greenwood, Arkansas.
