Roma Lee Brittain was born Febuary 12, 1922 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Guy Stork & Alice Lucille Graham Brittain.Feb 12, 1922 Roma Lee married Annie Lue Jennings in Franklin Co., Ar. On March 29, 1944 he married Wanda Mae Douglas, both of Lavaca, Ar. They married in Franklin Co. Ar. also.

June 30, 1942 Romma Lee registered for the military draft at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. At that time he was working for M. F. Jennings in Lavaca, Ar. I have no other information on his service except his rank was Pfc.

Roma Lee Brittian passed away January 1, 200 and is buried in Oak Valley Cemetery in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Roma Lee Brittain, 77, of Lavaca, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Civil Service at Fort Chaffee, member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca and a World War II Army veteran.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lavaca with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery in Lavaca under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Lavaca.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; three daughters, Shirley Stem of California, Carolyn Gray of Booneville and Rhonda Luce of Lavaca; three sons, Roma Lee Brittain Jr. of Charleston, and Greg and Doug Brittain, both of Lavaca; one sister, Fern Sosebee of Lavaca; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Col. Ray Spence, Col. Richard Brown, Ted Applegate, Wes Brittain, Jim Bean and Daniel Gray.

The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Times Record Online
