Byford Brown was born 29 Jun 1919 at Crawford Co., Ar to William Riley & Alice Johnson Brown. PFC Brown married Gladys M. Yeakley in Crawford Co., Ar 11 Mar 1939. Byford registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Parker School in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted on 16 Sep 1944 in the US Army at Camp Josepth T Robinson in Little Rock, Arkansas. He states his Occupation was skilled general woodworking. On June 4, 1945 Pfc Brown was killed in action at Okinawa, Japan. He was buried in the Alma City Cemetery, Alma, Ar.
