Garland Bennett Bryant

Garland Bennett Bryant was born March 19, 1918 in Big Creek Twsp., Sebastian Co., Ar. to Argus Bennett & Anna V. Lawrence Bryant. October 27, 1940 Garland, residing in Montebella, California and a native of Arkansas, married Marjorie Floyd, a resident of Los Angeles, California and a native of Arkansas.

October 16, 1940 Garland registered for the military draft at Montebello, Los Angeles Co., California. He was at that time employed with the California Marmalade Co. He enlisted in the US Army on January 31, 1943, stating that he had completed 4 years of high school and his occupation was semiskilled painter. He was assigned to the Army Engineers.

In June 1943 a hospital admission card says Garland was admitted to the hospital at Camp Swift, Bastrop, Texas. His diagnosis was not given but was something that existed prior to his entry into the service. He was discharged August 25, 1943 from the hospital and was given a Certificate of Disability and was discharged from military service.

August 29, 1995 GarlandBennett Bryant passed away at Los Angeles, California. No burial site could be located.
