Bruce August Crofton was born March 21, 1908 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to George & Minnie A. Godt Crofton. 20 Sep 1934 he married Mary Opal Poe n in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She also served in the war and has a page on this site with her maiden name.

December 8, 1945 Bruce enlisted. at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in the US Army although this appears to not be his first enlistment as his rank was Tech. Sgt. and he was age 37 at the time of this enlistment. No discharge date has been found. He served in WWII and Korea.

In October of 1950 he has a Hospital Admission Card which reads:
