Dr. Samuel Z. Faier
1907-1994


Samuel Z Faier was born January 1, 1907 at Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska to Samuel & Libby Perper Faier. Both parents were born in Romania. He married Margot Stein in late December 1954 at a sister-in-law and her husband.

Samuel registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Omaha, Newbraska where he was living at that time. January 1, he enlisted in the US Army. He served in the Army Medical Corps until June 27, 1946,

Samuel Z Faier passed away September 65, 1994. His burial was in the Jewish Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Dr. Samuel Faier was the son of the late Sam and Libby (Perper) Faier. He attended Omaha Central High School; and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Faier graduated from Creighton Meidcal Medical School in 1929 and did his internship at Sinai Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. He served a residency at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, between 1930 and 1933.

Dr. Faier did his Optholmology in the Army Medical Corps from 1942 to 1946. He married Margot Stein (born in Germany). The couple had two daughters: Susan Gail Faier and Sandra Lynn Faier.

Dr. Faier's memberships included: the Sebastian County Meidcal Society; the Arkansas Medical Society; AMA; American Academy of Opthalmology and Otorhinolarygology; the American Trilogical Society; the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and the United Hebrew Congregation of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was Board certified in Opthalmology (1939) and Otorhinolaryngology (1934) and he had published numerous medical papers int he Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology.
