November 10, 1935 August married Nadean Crawler of Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ar., Nadean met August when he came to the hospital to see his new niece Donna Sue. from Charles Harder. October 16, 1940 August registered for the military draft at the Jr. High School in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. On April 1944 August enlisted in the US Navy. He served until Sep 7, 1945. No further information is known abot his service. August Maxwell Harder passed away May 29, 1911 and was buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Arkansas.
