July 24, 1947 he married Emma Jean Tarplay from Lavaca. Andrew registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Island, Sebastian Co., Ar. No enlistment date has been found. Andrew passed away November 6, 2004 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in Island Cemetery in Sebastian Co., Ar. ====================================== Andrew Jackson Hobbs of Lavaca departed this life Saturday, November 6, 2004, at the age of 85 years, seven months and 17 days. He was born March 20, 1919, to William Isaac and Lynn Hobbs. He was a lifelong resident of Lavaca, Arkansas. Funeral services was at 10 a.m. at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston. He is survived by his wife, four sons, two daughters, one brother, 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Dale Crampton Roofing Co. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Burial was at Island Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Chronister officiating under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Charleston, Arkansas.
