Joseph Antle Hogan was born January 9, 1920 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Arthur Virgil & Mary Myrtle Kirkpatrick Hogan. October 16, 1945 Joseph resident of Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. married Alva Marie Kirkpatrick of Yell Co., Ar. October 16, 1945 in Sebastian Co. Although no mention is made of his long residence in Sebastian Co in his obit below, he is on the 1920, 30 & 40 census records along with his marriage and WWII military service from there.

Antle registered for the military draft on July 1, 1941 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. He reached the rank of Cpl before his discharge.

Joseph Antle Hogan passed away on March 6, 1999 In Boone County, Ar. and was buried in White Church Cemetery at Gaither, Boone Co., Ar.

Joseph Antle Hogan of Harrison died March 6 at age 79. His funeral services were held March 9 at Woodland Heights Church of Harrison where he was a member and former pastor. Hogan, a Southern Baptist minister for 50 years had been pastor of other Arkansas churches, including Pindall Chapel North Crossett First Church and Osceola First Church. In addition, he had been interim pastor of First Church of Grand-view and Gaither Church of Harrison Hogan had served on the Board of Trustees for Arkansas Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, a former president of Arkansas Woman's Missionary Union; and one sister. (WWW.YellCountyObits.org, Submitted by: Patron, 3/6/1999)
