Lowell Darwin Izell was born February 26, 1915 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Charles Thomas & Myrtle Virginia Cumbie Izell. December 3, 1936 Darwin married Louise Boyle from Midland, Sebastian Co., Ar. They were divorced October 4, 1941. His second wife was Atta Mable Morrow, married January 8, 1941 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Ar.

Lowell registered for the military draft Otober 16, 1940 at Little Rock, Arkansas. He enlisted 30 Dec 1942 at Los Angeles, California. He states he had completed 3 years of high school and his civil occupation was "Semiskilled routemen". He served in the medical department. During his time in the service he had 2 hospital visits. The first one April 1945 with a diagnosis of "Tonsillitis, acute". He was dimissed from the hospital in May 1945. The next time was October 1945 at a Field Hospital for an illness. He served in the military until 14 Jan 1946 and had the rank of Pfc.

Lowell Darwin Izell passed away November 9, 1967 at Fayetteville, Washington Co., Arkansas. Burial was at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ar.
