John Herman Izell was born December 19, 1914 at Boss Little, Sebastian Co., Arkansas to Elmer Charles & Minnie Sarah Skinner Izell. November 1, 1949 John married Dorothy Jeanne Anderson at Carson City, Nevada. October 16, 1940 John registered for the military draft at Short Mountain in Paris, Arkansas. September 15, 1943 he enlisted in the US Army. At the time of his enlistment his residence was San Francisco, California. He states he had completed 2 year of high school and his occupation had been skilled welders and flame cutter. He served until February 22, 1946. His last rank was Tec 4. John Herman Izell passed away at Hackett, Sebastian Co. Arkansas October 1, 1987 and was buried at the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
