John Jefford Jenkins was born Dec 14, 1920 in McCurtain, Okla. to Willard Oakley & Nellie McCallum Jenkins. The family moved to Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar before 1930. John registered for the draft 16 Feb 1942 in Fort Smith, Ar. and joined the US Army Air Force. Pvt. John J. Jenkins died in the hospital at Ft. Omaha, Nebraska from Hepatitis in August 1943.
