Virgil Walter Johnson was born 29 Dec 1920 in Stigler Haskell, Oklahoma to Hobert G & Ethel McVey Johnson. Feb 16, 1942 Virgil filled out his draft card in Izard Co., Ar. He was living at that time in Brockwell, Izard Co., Ar. Dec 30, 1941 while living in Caloma, Berrin, Michigan Virgil married Phenia Blevins from Violet Hill, Izard, Arkansas. They were married in Fulton Co., Ar.

Virgil Walter Johnson died on the 15 Apr 1999 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. and was buried in Liberty Cemetery, Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.

HACKETT - Virgil W. Johnson, 78, of Hackett died Thursday, April 15, 1999, in a local hospital. He was employed by Arkansas Office Equipment and was retired from Whirlpool Corp. He as a member of American Legion Post 31 of Fort Smith and attended Hackett United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Phenia; one daughter, Sherrin Frank of Fort Smith; one son, Lanny of Mansfield; one brother, Jim of Orlando, Fla.; two granddaughters, Susan Terrell and Vicki Kosinski; and four great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Vol Ray Blevins, Terry Watkins, Randy Fait, Earl Denham, Bob Johnson and Steve VanWinkle.
