October 11, 1941 Elmo married Floriene Rose Phillips in Ouachita County, Ar. Both Floriene and Elmo list their residence as Fort Smith at that time. Elmo registered for the military draft March 10, 1942 at Texarkana, Texas. He enlisted in the US Army March 11, 1943 and served until Nov 27, 1945, leaving the service as a PFC. No more information on his service is found. Elmo and Floriene are listed in the Fort Smith Directories 1938-1961. Elmo Marion Lamb passed away December 5, 1982. He was buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
