Lenard David Massengale was born 21 Apr 1925 in Sebastian County, Arkansas to Thomas Jasper & Bertha Mae Webb Massengale.

Lenard enlisted with the Marines and was attached to Military Unit: Co C, 1 Bn, 6 Mar, 2 Mar Div, Fmf, Marianas Islands.
On June 18, 1944 PFC Massengale lost his life in battle. The Battle of Saipan, Mariana Islands campaign was from 15 June to 24 July 1944, Feb. 3 1949 his body was finally brought home to rest in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ar.
