Raymond Arnold Moore was born Dec 19, 1909 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Louis R. & Maud Elizabeth "Bessie" Patterson Moore. Aug 13, 1941 Raymond age 31 married Grace Floyd age 28 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Raymond enlisted in the US Army at Camp Josepth T Robinson at Little Rock on 13 May 1942. On his enlistment papers he states that he completed 4 years of high school and his civil occupation was general farming.

PFC Moore was attached to 5th Armored Division, 15th Infantry Battalion.

In August of 1944 PFC Moore was admitted to the hospital after being injured in battle. Injuries to the Leg from Artillery Shell and Frangments. Medical Treatment: Penicillin therapy.
On December 15, 1944 in Germany, Pfc Moore again received wounds, this time they were fatal. For his service and sacrifice he was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Pfc. Raymond A Moore was buried at Plot C Row 10 Grave 6, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. This is an American Battle Monuments Commission location.
On Dec 13, 1947 Pfc. Moore was moved to a grave at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Ar.
