He registered for the military draft Otober 16, 1940 at Midalnd, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted with the US Navy February 24, 1944. On a March 1, 1946 Navy muster record Marcel is serving on the USS Perry D-844, a Gearing-class destroyer. No information is found as to when he was assigned to the USS Perry or what his discharge date was. January 8, 1951. 41 year old Richard Marcel Orr passed away and was buried at Hartford Memorial Park in Hartford, Sebastian Co. Ar.
