Edwin Earle Overton was born June 26, 1927 in Central City, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Leo & Jenny Ortonna Redwine Overton. July 3, 19247 he married Irma Boyd in Sebastian Co., Ar. His residence was Greenwood, Ar. and her's Midland, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Earle registered for the military draft December 11, 1946 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted with the US Navy May 11, 1945. Nothing more is found about his service.

Edwin Earle Overton passed away November 17, 2017. His burial was in Coop Prairie Cemetery at Mansfield, Scott Co., Ar.

Son of Leo and Jenny Ortonna Redwine Overton. He married Irma Boyd on July 3, 1947.

Earle graduated from Greenwood High School in 1945 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy to fight in World War II. Upon his release from the service in the summer of 1947, Earle apprenticed to Bender Brothers Plumbing in Fort Smith.

The couple moved to Mansfield where they lived together until Irma's passing in March 2017. During his time in Mansfield, Earle co-owned Mansfield Plumbing, Heating and Hardware, served on the Mansfield and Sebastian County School Boards, served on the Board of Directors for the Methodist Nursing Home in Fort Smith and as Chairman of the Board of the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. Earle also served on the Board of Directors for Allied Bank (now Today's Bank), was a member of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce and the Mansfield Huntington Lions Club. Earle was an member of 1st United Methodist Church in Mansfield for over 60 years. He was active on many boards and committees for the church and served as youth leader for United Methodist Youth Fellowship and God Squad.

Earle is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; one daughter and son-in-law; two sisters; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irma, parents and one brother Charles Lingurn Overton.
