September 20, 1934 Mary married Bruce Crofton in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. where they both lived. He served also in the military. Mary enlisted in the Women's Army Corps March 8, 1943 at Little Rock, Arkansas She states on her enlistemnt that she is married, was born in Arkansas and has 3 years of college. Her civil occupation was Buyers and department heads, stores. She served until June 2, 1946. Mary Opal Crofton passed away February 15, 1976 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas. Her burial was at Chapel of the Chimes Columbarium and Mausoleum in Oakland, Alameda County, California.
