. Adolph Phillip Schonaerts was born June 25, 1919 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Adolph Phillip, Sr. (b. Belguim) & Edna Barrow Schonaerts. July 1, 1943 Phillip married Mary Louise Jordan at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Phillip registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 in Springdale, Washington Co., Ar. being enrolled in the University of Arkansas at that time. He enlsted with the US Army Air Corps July 8, 1942 at Camp Chaffee at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He had completed 4 years of college and his civil occuption was listed as Chemists, assayers, and metallurgists, In September of 1943, according to a Hospital Admittance Card, Phillip was admitted to the hospital in Florida for a "Malunion fracture, lower extremity; Diagnosis: Malunion of fracture; Associated Disease: Relaxed ligament of joint that existed prior to entry into service." He was disccharged in October 1943 for disabiity after serving "1-2 months" in the service. If this is the correct time frame then either his enlistment year or the disability year is not correct. According to his mothers obituary in the Phoenix, Arizona paper in 1967 his residence is also in Phoenix, Arizona. Adolph Phillip Schonaerts, Jr passed away 10 Sep 1999 in Scottsdale, Maricopa, Arizona according to the social security Death Index. I have not located a cemetery or found a marker for him.
