LeVerne Weston Sinclair was born April 20, 1925 in Corydon, Wayne Co., Iowa to George Augustas & Hallie Evelyn McVey Sinclair. He married Phyllis Anne Dyer at Chariton, Lucas, Iowa August 24, 1946.

LaVerne W. Sinclair, 91, of Greenwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord and his wife Phyllis of 69 years on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

LaVerne joined the U.S. Marine Corp at the age of 15, and served during the Pacific Theater. He was stationed in Okinawa, Guadalcanal, and Tarawa. LaVerne retired from the civil service after 28 years as a building inspector.

LaVerne served as the President of the Vista, California Chapter of the Full Gospel Businessman for several years. LaVerne was also a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Golden Harvesters Sunday School Class, and Harvest Time.

LaVerne was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, infant son Gerald Sinclair, four brothers Bill Sinclair, Don Sinclair, Jerry Sinclair, Rick McVey and Roger McVey; one great granddaughter Macie Erwin and two great grandsons Aiden and Shawn Wiley.

LaVerne is survived three sons: Larry Sinclair of Fallbrook, California; Terry Sinclair and wife Tamara of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Bill Sinclair and Melissa Sinclair of Van Buren, Arkansas; three daughters; Linda Erwin and husband Steve of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Debbie Harris and husband Orville of Grenada Hills, California; Kathy Hargrove and husband Stanley of Fallbrook, California; one brother Melvin Sinclair and wife Pat of Mesa, Arizona. LaVerne is also survived by thirteen grandchildren : Robert Erwin, Edward Erwin, Daniel Erwin and wife Jamie, Isaac Harris and wife Vanessa, Lloyd Harris, Steven Harris and wife Loice, Heather Hargrove, Matthew Hargrove and wife Lorraine, Shane Hargrove, Renata Cole and husband Kinny, Danny Wiley and wife Halea, Hunter Wiley, and Victoria James and husband Colt. Laverne is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and close family friends Earl and Linda Comstock.

A Celebration of Life of service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Edward Erwin, Daniel Erwin, Shane Hargrove, Matthew Hargrove, Hunter Wiley and Kinny Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be the Golden Harvesters Sunday School Class.
