Helen Madge Singleton
1921-2008


Helen Madge Singleton was botn June 14, 1921 in, Montgomery Co., Ar. to Issac Allen & Edith Gortemiller Singleton. (there is some confusion about the name of Helen's mother) Nov.20,1953 in Jeffersonville,Ind. Helen married Earl Strahin, who served in the US Army in WWII and Korea.

No record of her service has been found although the U.S. Veterans' Gravesites and her marker tells us she served in the Women's Army Aux Corps as a Corporal.

Helen Madge Singleton Strahin passed away January 5, 2008 and is buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Helen M. Strahin, 86, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in a local nursing Home. Mrs. Strahin was a homemaker and was in the Army Wacs, serving in WW II.

She was the daughter of Issac Allen Singleton and Eda Pruitt both born in Huddleston, Ar.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl. They were married Nov.20,1953 in Jeffersonville, Ind.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Strahin, son Tim Strahin, sisters, Mable Stovall and Blanche Kendrick, brother, J.E. Singleton, granddaughters, Amber, Renee and Cassandra and great granddaughter, Lucy.
