Kenneth Dain Stanfill was born February 4, 1921 at Huntington, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Ezra Otho, Sr. & Ethel Parker Stanfill. August 31, 1940 he married Gracie Leona Waldrop at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.

February 16, 1942 Kenneth registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Army February 24, 1945 at Camp Josepth T. Robinson in Little Rock, Ar. and served until November 4, 1946. He stated on his enlistment papers he had completed 4 years of high school. Nothing more is known about his military service.

Kenneth Dain Stanfill passed away May 9, 2010 at Fayetteville, Washington Co., Ar. and was buried in Bluff Cemetery, Springdale, Washington Co., Ar.

Kenneth "Pappy" Stanfill, 89, of Springdale, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Huntington, Ark., the son of E.O. and Ethel Parker Stanfill.

He served in the United States Army; worked as a truck driver for many years and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Springdale. He also had served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent in different churches over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Gracie Stanfill, of the home, to whom he married, Aug. 31, 1940; two sons, Jerry Stanfill and wife, Phyllis, of Springdale, and Rick Stanfill and wife, Judy, of Fort Smith; one daughter, Donna Farris and husband, Bob, of Springdale; two brothers, Jimmy Joe Stanfill of Fort Smith and Delbert Stanfill of Troy, Ohio; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Springdale with the Revs. Bob Fant, Hoyt Ming and Don Nye officiating. Burial was in Bluff Cemetery in Springdale.
