Roy Lee Stroud was born December 19, 1925 at Huntington, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Samuel Voyed & Dollie Mae Morrison Stroud. December 22, 1946 he married Delma Joye Richardson, both being residents of Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. at that time.

February 24, 1944 Roy enlisted in the US Navy. He served until June 6, 1946 with the rank of Sc3. Nothing more is found about his time in the service.

Roy Lee Stroud passed away August 20, 2005 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. His burial was in Liberty Cemetery, Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Roy Lee Stroud, 79, of Lakeview, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 20, 2005, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Roy was born December 19, 1925, in Huntington, Arkansas. He was owner of S&S Used Cars in Mountain Home, and owned used car lots in Orange County and Bakersfield, CA and Coeur DAlene, ID before moving to Mountain Home in 1993.

He attended Eastside Baptist Church in Mountain Home was a member of Lodge #131 F&AM, Greenwood, AR, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy and World War II serving on a Navy Destroyer.

Fuenral will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel, 137 North Main, Greenwood, AR with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood.

Survivors are his wife, Jodi Stroud of the home; one daughter, Sonya Bolton and husband, Rod of San Diego, Ca; four sons, Steve Stroud and wife, Jacqueline of Mission Viejo, CA, Roy Lee Stroud II of Louisville, KY, David Stroud of Mountain Home, AR and Jesse Stroud of Mountain Home, AR; one brother, Jerry Stroud of Yuma, AZ; eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. One son, Stanley Stroud preceded him in death.
