Johnnie William Walker

Johnnie William Walker was born in Arkansas Jan 1, 1916 and married Dorothy Mae Smith of Sebastian Co May 7 1938 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. In 1940 Johnnie and Dorothy are living in Prairie, Washington Co., Ar. They have one son, Johnnie Lee Walker, 6 mos old. In 1944 they had another son, Loyd William Walker. Johnnie's occupation is carpenter's helper. Highest grade in school completed was the 4th grade.

John enlisted in the US Army July 6, 1944 at Camp Robinson, Little Rock, Arkansas. He states his residence is Sebastian County, Ar. and his civil occupation is skilled welders and flame cutters.

In April 1945 Pfc Johnnie Walker was injured in battle at Okinawa. He had been in the service for less than a year. His Medical Diagnosis was "Killed in Action". He was not in a medical installation prior to death.

Pfc Walker served in the 381st Infantry Regiment, 96th Division. PFC Johnnie W Walker was buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA
