Norman Means Wilkinson was born October 26, 1908 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. Arkansas to William Norman & Mary Myrtle Means Wilkinson. June 13, 1954 45 year old Means married 23 year old Betty Jean Forbus, both of Greenwood, Center Twsp, Arkansas.

Norman Means Wilkinson was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, serving from 1933 to 1942. He was a member of the Democratic party and served as Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives.

October 16, 1940 Means signed up for the military draft at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. and October 24, 1942 he enlisted in the US Navy, serving as a lieutenant JG. Lt. Means was wounded in action and was the first Greenwood man to receive a Puple Heart medal in WWII per the clipping below. After his service he returned to Greenwood Arkansas to live out the rest of his life continuing to serve the people of Sebastian Co., Ar.

November 11, 1991 Norman Means Wilkinson passed away in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He is buried in Liberty Cemetry, Greenwood, Sebastian Co.,
