Bernard Burton McAbee was born 11 Jun 1917 in Ursula, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Jesse Sewell and Sally Meredith Johnston McAbee. While living at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. on April 25, 1947 in Faulkner Co., Arkansas he married Margaret Josephine Bennett from Branch, Franklin Co., Ar. October 16, 1940 Bernard registered for the military draft at Big Creek, Twsp, Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. On November 11, 1942 he enlisted with the US Navy. He served there until October 13, 1945. In 1951 he is found as a member of the faculty of Gravette High School in Gravette, Benton Co., Ar. He was known as "Coach Mac". Bernard Burton McAbee passed away March 27, 1986 in Joplin, Jasper Co., Mo. He is buried at Bethel Cemetery, Gravvette, Benton Co., Ar.
