Ray Gilbreath was born April 9, 1939 in Altus, Franklin Co., Arkansas to Gilbert Pawley & Mary Alice Russell Gilbreath.

Besides his photo in uniform nothing more is known about his service.

Mr. Ray Gilbreath, of Greenwood, Arkansas, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at a Fort Smith hospital. Mr. Gilbreath was 71 years, 1 month, and 8 days old. He was a retired employee of Arkansas Oklahoma Gas; an ARMY veteran; a member of the Greenwood High School Class of 1957; and a member of the United Methodist Church of Greenwood.

Mr. Gilbreath was preceded in death by his beloved 1st wife: Carol (Woods)Gilbreath; his father: Gilberty Gilbreath; and two brothers: Ralph Gilbreath and Roy Gilbreath. He is survived by his wife: Joicie Gilbreath; a son: Phillip Gilbreath, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; four daughters: Marilyn Bair and her husband: Tim, Jennifer Rose and her husband: Michael, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Kelly Cumbee and her husband: Mike, of George, Virginia, and Anne Pyle, of Greenwood, Arkansas; his mother: Mary Gilbreath, of Greenwood, Arkansas; two sisters: Janice Quillman, and Ruth Oliver, both of Greenwood, Arkansas; 11 wonderful grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of dear friends.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the United Methodist Church, in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was laid to rest at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood, Arkansas. Pallbearers were his nephews: James Quillman, Larry Quillman; Stephen Malenshek, Robert Malenshek, Andrew Malenshek, Ryan Quillman, Cody Quillman, Christopher Malenshek and Aaron Malenshek.

Honorary Pallbearers were the Now and Then Sunday School Class.
