"Just a by stander at your last hour
I remember how brave you were and what you did for others.

Working on the flight deck, a big group was sent to N.Vietnam on a bombing run. Four A4's were sent way inland. LCDR Richard A Moran took a tanker up to bring the 4 A4's the rest of way home. An hour later all four made in on deck then LCDR Moran missed the wire twice and went into the sea across from ship. Went down very fast before help got to whirlpool. No ejection. Body was not recovered. Very Sad. He saved 4 pilots for his own.

I did not know that it was his first day of his tour. He is a hero."
