The city council rejected the application of Messrs Echols, Vaughan and Smith for a franchise to build a street railway.
This company held a charter from the Secretary of State, and were prepared to complete the railway in one year, and have stock to the amount of $10,000 suscribed. The company to whom the privileges were granted have been allowed two years time
in which to build.
