Dayton School District #86, was formed on February 14, 1895 by order of the Sebastian County Court.
Not much is know about this school district.
On, December 16, 1930, the Mansfield School District agreed and approved the annexation of Dayton School District #86 into the
Mansfield School District. This was done due to a petition from the majority of qualified voters in the school district area.
The school once sat on the same site at the present Dayton Community Center.
