Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Denison cemetery for Mrs. Reeder Reed,25, who died about 5:00 a.m. Wednesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Jones, who reside on the Earl farm on Red River. Rev. R.C. Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Coffy Funeral Home. Mrs. Reed, formerly Miss Ella Mel Jones, had been sick for some time, having spent the past year in the State hospital at Talihina. She was brought to the home of her parents a month ago. Besides the parents she is survived by her husband; one daughter, Wanda Lou; one son, Jerry Dale; two sisters, Mrs Drebon (VERNA) Sanders of Shults and Mrs. Cleo (Theadocia) Elliott of Durant; five brothers, Bennie, Dillard, Jesse, Earl and Wesley Jones; grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Purtle of Locksburg, Ark.


Revels, Bobby R.

Bobby R. Revels, 48, of Shreveport, La. and a former resident of Texarkana, died at 7 P.M. Thursday in Shreveport. Services will be at 2 P.M. today at East Memorial Chapel with Dr. D.L. Lowery, assisted by the Rev. T.D. McCulloch, officiating. Burial will be in Lockesburg, Ark. He was a former sales manager of Texarkana Coco-Cola Company, a veteran of U.S. Marines Corps and a Methodist. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Boosier City, La; three daughters, Miss Susan Revels, Miss Robin Revels and Miss Jan Revels, all of Texarkana; a sister, Mrs. Sarah French of Hurst, Texas; a brother, Russell Revels of Palm Springs, Calif.; an aunt, Mrs. Robbie Tye of Texarkana. The family will be at 4105 Pecos Ave., Texarkana, Texas. Revels, Donald H.

Donald H. Revels, 54, died Saturday morning at his home at Nashville. He was born May 17, 1912 at Lockesburg, Ark., and had been an employe of Scott Lumber Co. at Nashville for 18 years. Revels was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviovors include his widow, Mrs. Elbie Bennett Revels of Nashville; one son, Royce Don Revels of Nashville; two daughters, Mrs. Lynn Jones of Nashville and Mrs. Odell Cope of Ft. Worth, Texas; One brother John Revels; one half-brother, Thomas Revels; two sisters, Mrs. John Slaton and Mrs. Ben Martz; one half sister, Mrs. Reese Hale, all of Lockesburg; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Latimer Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Service.

John E. Revels, 72, of Lockesburg, Ark., died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in a De Queen hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Wilkerson Chapel with the Rev. Joe Denton officiating.Burial will be in Lockesburg Cemetery. Born Sept. 5, 1902, at Lockesburg, Revels was a farmer and stockman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Madge Christian Revels of Lockesburg; four sons, Robbie Louis Revels and Lonnie Keith Revels, both of Dallas, Tex. Dr. Ed Revels of De Queen and Richard Paul Revels of Lockesburg; two daughters, Mrs. Bea Watts of Odessa, Tex., and Mrs. Ruth Ellen Hudgins of Houston, Tex.; a brother, Thomas E. Revels of Lockesburg; three sisters, Mrs. Rene Slaton, Mrs. Ila Martz and Mrs. Naomi Hale, all of Lockesburg; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Revels, Mrs. Julia

Mrs. Julia Revels, 91, of Lockesburg, Ark. died Thursday in a De Queen hospital. She was born May 3, 1877 near Arkadelphia, Ark. She had been a resident of Sevier County for 77 years and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Thomas Revels of Lockesburg, one step-son, John Revels of Lockesburg; one daughter, Mrs. Reese Hale of Lockesburg; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ila Martz and Mrs. Rene Slaton both of Lockesburg; 28 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great- grandchildren. Services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Methodist Church in Lockesburg with the Rev. James Cannon and Rev.J.R. Callicot officiating. Burial will be in the Lockesburg Cemetery by the Latimer Funeral Service of Nashville.


Revels, Luther
April 25, 1872 - July 20, 1948

Luther Revels, 76, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Reese Hale in the Rock Hill community Tuesday, July 20, at 4:30 p.m. following a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday July 21, at 4:30 p.m. at the Lockesburg Methodist church with the Rev. L. Gray Wilson assisted by Rev. A.Q. Zachry officiating. Interment was in Lockesburg cemetery under direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville. He was born April 25, 1872 in Spartanburg, S.C. and was a member of Red Colony Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Revels, three sons, John and Thomas Revels of Lockesburg, Donald Revels of Nashville; three daughters, Mrs. Ben Martz of Center Point, Mrs. John Slaton and Mrs. Reese Hale of Lockesburg. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Joe Martz, Luther Martz, Earl Slaton, Robbie Revels, Edward Revels and Ronald Hale. Revels, Thomas E.

DeQueen, Ark. - Thomas Edwin "Buddy" Revels, 70, of Lockesburg, Ark., died Saturday in a local hospital of natural causes. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Lockesburg, with the Revs David Thompson and Charles Rishell officiating. Burial will be in Lockesburg Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, DeQueen. Mr. Revels was born April 29, 1916, at Lockesburg. He was retired from the D&E Railroad and a member of the First United Methodist , Lockesburg. Survivors include his wife Ellen Francis Dowdle Revels of Lockesburg; two sons, Jerry Quinton Revels of Dierks, Ark. and Gary Lynn Revels of Lockesburg; three daughters, Judith Marie Ford of Ashdown, Ark., Brenda Kay Brackett of Lockesburg, and Sarah Ellen Yates of Glenwood, Ark: one sister, Naomi Hale of Lockesburg; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

G.M. ( Sonny ) Ridley, aged 49, resident of Kansas City, Kan., and former resident of De Queen and Lockesburg, suffered a fatal heart attack Saturday, Sept. 14 in Kansas City. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Wilkerson chapel with Rev.J. Lawrence Thorup of Kansas City officiating. Burial was in Redmen cemetery. Born Aug. 17, 1925 in Lockesburg, he was a member of the Baptist church, veteran of World War II, member of VFW and an employee of Board Public Utilities. Surviviors include his wife, Mrs. Norma Jean Rodgers Ridley; one daughter, Mrs. Arta Osbern; one son, Rodger Ridley, all of Kansas City; his parents, Mr and Mrs. T.M. Ridley, Lockesburg; two sisters, Mrs. Fayne Gunnels, Emerson and Mrs. Tince Alton,Marion. Pallbearers were Bobby Crawford, Bill Walker, Dallas McLeod, Minor Millwee, J.D. Bartlett and Durl Taylor.


Rink, Mrs. Ethel Mae

Mrs. Ethel Mae Rink Whitley aged 75, resident of De Queen, died Saturday, May 23, in Community Hospital of De Queen. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Monday, May 25, in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Rogers officiating. Burial was in Redman Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Marvin Whitley of De Queen; two sons, Jerry Whitley of Van Alstyene , Tex., and Billy Whitley of Lake, La.; one daughter, Roxy Ann Stephens of De Queen; three sisters, Frankie Brooks, Jeffie Johnson and Flo Morrison, all of De Queen; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Blanche Dooley Locke dies in home of Mrs. L.D. McCown her Daughter (who lives in the big Locke Manor). She was daughter of Rev. W. E. Dooley married October, 1882 to George Locke. Six children survive: Mrs. Otis Wingo, Mrs. Nola Arndt, Mrs. L. D. McCown, Dale, Dooley, George T. Sisters: Mrs. J. P. Norwood, Mrs. S. Hunsucker, and brother J.B. Dooley. She was buried in Redmen Cemetery. Effie and Nola did not get home for the funeral.

Emma Jewell Rose, 60, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, in a local hospital. Mrs. Rose was born March 6, 1938, in Lockesburg, Ark. She was a sitter for home patients and a Baptist. Survivors include one son, Billy Battles of Monticello, Ark.; two daughters, Stephanie "Jet" Lewis of Texarkana and Wyonna Battles of Lockesburg; three brothers, Nath Priest of DeValls Bluff, Ark., Bud Priest of Texarkana and Bunk Priest of Fouke, Ark.; two sisters, Dot Kitts of Yakima, Wash., and Flora Priest of Horatio, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Battles and Shannon Lewis. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Old Piney Cemtery, Sevier County, Ark., with the Rev. J.T. Hill officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. The family will be at 6108 W. Seventh St.

Mrs Russell dies Sunday in Local Hospital. Jennie Caroline Russell died in a local Hospital Sunday June 3 at 11 P.M. Funeral Services were held Wednesday June 6th. at 2 P.M. in Wilkerson Funeral Chapel by Rev. Virgil Russell of Enid, Oklahoma. Internment was in the Redman Cemetery. Mrs. Russell was born May 6th. 1887 in Center Point ,Ark. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors are her husband one Daughter Mrs. Elbert Hughes, De Queen one Brother Tom Jones of De Queen.
