QUERY 001

Kinton Family.

My mother's family was from St. Francis County. They lived in Wheatley, Forrest City, and Kinton. The Wheatley family names were Hemenway and Sterling. My great-grandfather was Joseph R. Kinton from Kinton, Ark. (I found a listing of the community on a 1915 map). I have an envelope addressed to him there. I think his wife's name was Josephine. Both the Hemenway and Sterling lines are pretty much complete. Of the Kintons, however, we can find NO information other than the fact that they had four daughters who were all adopted by four different families, but kept together as sisters. One was Julia who was adopted by the Bonners of Forrest City.Another was Pearl who was adopted by another Forrest City family. The third was Eva (my grandmother) who was adopted by the Neely family of Wheatley. The fourth, Lucille, had the last name of Redmond.
To me it is very strange that all information seems to have vanished.
If anyone can help, I would be most appreciative.
