(SARAH) AUGUSTA CALDWELL CUNNALS  8-1-1881 to 10-2-1902

*Wife of  Edd  Cunnals. *Her tombstone is broken & lying flat on the ground.

There is much confusion  about the surname Gunnals or Cunnals. When I last visited the cemetery,  I

chalked the tombstone  & took a picture.  In the photo I took, it clearly shows  a "C" making the name

CUNNALS.  However, other researchers, most likely kin, give Augusta’s first name along with her

maiden name, but they give GUNNALS as the surname.  *On other listings, it is listed strictly under

Gunnals . However, reviewing the photos I took, it is very clearly  spelled  CUNNALS, not GUNNALS

(There is no “E” in it on the tombstone.)What is totally illedgible are the initials or given name before

Cunnals.  The 2nd initial of the “given”initials is very clearly is a  “D”.  I have listed Augusta under

GUNNALS, because if it is misspelled on the tombstone, they would know.

(SARAH) AUGUSTA CALDWELL GUNNALS  8-1-1881 to 10-2-1902

*Augusta, Wife of  Edd  Gunnals. *Her tombstone is broken & lying flat on the ground,. AUGUSTA

wife of  E ? D. CUNNALS. (The break in the stone runs thru the initials.

CUNNALS,  as I see it, but in the event  it is misspelled on the tombstone, the descendants would know

& the correct listing would be Gunnals..

*Above photo is of the sign located next to the dirt lane

that turns in from the highway and leads to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

It is very faded & needs to be freshened up.

*I believe the above covered grave belongs to either the

Harper or Brown family.

*View inside---very grown up with weeds, vines, etc.

Wooden structure does not appear to be stable—at least

I decided it was not worth crawling in there to try to see what

was on the broken stones. (2011)

*Note:  There is a black Pleasant Hill Cemetery, located Southeast of Strong,

probably on or near Aurelle Rd. ....down toward the Louisiana state line.
