Back of the house and to the north and slightly east was a cemetery known as the Wallace Cemetery which was said to have four hundred graves by Dr. J. H. Farris, the last practicing physician at New London. Today, over-grown with giant trees that have covered these graves with their leaves for a century, grave imprints are visible. These imprints cover a very large area. Negroes still use the front of this cemetery that was probably in use as early as 1820 where both master and slave were buried.)
